Shipping & Payment
What is the delivery time for panniers and other products?
The delivery time of an order from stock is basically two weeks. For a self-assembled bag or bucket tent, this can range from 2 to 4 weeks, with exceptions. Also, the reCYCLEd and Ferrari products have a longer delivery time. Bicycle bags with your own logo or image have a delivery time of 3 to 5 weeks.
An order will not be shipped until the invoice is paid.
Do you ship a bicycle bag or other product outside the Netherlands?
Yes, we ship within and outside of Europe. Rates are shown in the shopping cart before you finalize your order.
What payment options are available?
You can pay with IDEAL, Paypal, credit card and bank transfer.
Can I receive an invoice in which the VAT is reverse-charged?
Yes it is possible to receive such an invoice. When you place your order, put in “comments” in the shopping cart that you want to receive an invoice in which the VAT is transferred. Then check the pay by invoice option in the payment options. Also include the billing address and your VAT number in comments. We will send you the adjusted invoice after placing the order.
What are the shipping costs?
You always pay shipping costs, except if you choose the option to pick up the order at our location. If you choose this option we will call you as soon as the order is ready.

Exchanges & Returns
Can I exchange or return my product?
When purchasing products, you have the option of dissolving the agreement without giving reasons for 14 days. This reflection period starts the day after receiving the product.
Exchanges are usually possible upon request, shipping costs are at your own expense.
Shipping costs will not be refunded for returns unless it can be clearly demonstrated that we have delivered a faulty product.
Note: Self assembled products and any added options such as: Anti-theft ring, incisions, cutout etc. cannot be not exchanged or returned!
What is the return process and what should I be aware of?
You will not receive a return label from us. Return costs are at your own expense.
You arrange to return your product yourself through a parcel point of your choice. Remember to include the return form in the original box.

What should I do in case of a manufacturing defect?
Have you received a product that clearly has a manufacturing defect? First send us an email with a clear description of the problem and a photo to: webshop@clarijsbikebags.com
After approval you can return the product and we will give you a full refund, including shipping costs.
In this case, we will provide you with a return label.
Warranty & Conditions
Is there a warranty on panniers or other Clarijs products?
We provide a 2-year warranty on all Clarijs products.
The statutory Dutch warranty period applies to all other products.
This warranty applies only to defects in parts and workmanship under normal use of the products.
Please note that all screen prints can suffer some damage here and there over the years.
Cargo bike rain covers:
2 years on canvas tears.
6 months on the zipper.
On the window film of the cargo bike covers and all other production, no warranty applies.
Only if stated within 48 hours of purchase.

Options for panniers
How can I keep using my bike straps with panniers?
You can select the option “incise for quick straps” under extras.
The cut-out in the middle section of the luggage carrier is also an option for this.
Can I protect the pannier from theft?
An anti-theft ring works preventively because you can attach the bike bag to the bike with a lock through the ring. We also recommend ALWAYS securing the bike to a tree/fence or post.

An XL can carry 8 one-and-a-half liter bottles per side so 16 per bag
an L holds 6 bottles per side, so 12 per bag
An S size basically does not fit one and a half liter bottles, these are suitable for children’s or sport bikes.
Sizes may vary slightly because all our bags are handmade.

Attaching the pannier bag to the rack
The Double bike bags are attached to the luggage rack by means of 4 Velcro straps. Single bike bags are additionally attached to the luggage rack by means of a Velcro strap, so that when the bag is empty you cannot lose the bicycle bag.
Carrying capacity of the pannier bag
Bike bags can basically carry as much as you want to take with you, but most racks can accommodate 15 to 20 pounds of weight.
For a single bike bag, we do not recommend loading more than 7 pounds.
If I want a print pannier, can I order the bag in a different color?
For example, do you want the pink flowers with white bag but with pink bag instead of white bag.
No problem, just mention in comments in the cart that you want a particular color.
You will then receive an email confirmation about the change.

Every bag is handmade in the Netherlands with great attention to detail.
Can I personalise or design my own bag?
Yes, through the Configuration Tool in the menu under

you can create your own bag. Upload a logo, image or design and choose the color or print yourself.
This way you can create a unique bag that completely matches your personal style or brand identity.
Not all bags are suitable for this.
What are the internal and external measurements of the shoppers?

How much fits inside a Clarijs shopper?
The Clarijs shopper offers surprisingly spacious storage. In size XL, for example,
it easily fits six 1.5-liter bottles side by side.
Do the shoppers fit inside the double bike bags?

What makes Clarijs bags sustainable and crafted with care?
Every Clarijs bag is handmade in the Netherlands, partly by employees from a social workplace. For production, only high-quality materials from the EU are used, such as durable Bisonyl PVC fabric, coated acrylic fabric, or recycled truck canvas. This makes the bags waterproof, wear-resistant, and built for many years of use — a conscious choice for quality and sustainability.
Maintenance & Cleaning Tips
How do I clean my bike bag?
Use a soft cloth with lukewarm water and some mild soap if necessary. Avoid harsh detergents or abrasives. Stubborn stains are best removed with green soap or a soft sponge.
What is the best way to dry and store my bike bag?
Let the bag dry thoroughly at room temperature after a rain. Then store the bag in a dry place to avoid mold.
How do I make my bike bag last longer?
Avoid prolonged exposure to bright sun or extreme cold, as this can cause the material to age faster. With proper maintenance, your pannier will remain beautiful and functional for years.
Are Clarijs' panniers waterproof?
Yes, all panniers are made of waterproof material. This sturdy fabric protects your belongings from rain.
Child seats in combination with panniers
What is the difference between a Bobike and a GMG child seat, which bike bag do I need?
A Bobike seat attaches to the seat bar and a GMG child seat clips onto the rack. So for the GMG, you always need a square cutout in the middle of the pannier. See under additional options for panniers.

A Bo bike child seat can almost never be combined with a large bike bag.
The length of the luggage carrier measured from the footrests must be at least 38 cm.

Are reCYCLEd panniers as strong as regular bags?
Yes, Clarijs’ reCYCLEd panniers are just as strong as the regular collection. They are made from sturdy truck canvas and manufacturing waste. This material is extremely hard-wearing, completely waterproof and ideal for everyday use. So you’re assured of the same high quality you’ve come to expect from Clarijs, but with a sustainable slant.
Where do the materials for the reCYCLEd bags come from?
For our recycled bags we use truck fabric, cutting waste from our own production cargo bike rain tents, waste from stretch tents and sailcloth, for example. This is how we give waste a second life and turn it into a strong, practical product. This process fits completely within our vision of corporate sustainability.
Is every reCYCLEd (bicycle) bag unique?
Yes, every reCYCLEd pannier and reCYCLEd shopper with print is unique! Because we work with leftover materials, each bag has its own look and feel. Colors, details and patterns can vary from bag to bag, which means you will always have a unique pannier or shopper that no one else has.
How do I maintain a recycled Clarijs pannier?
Clarijs’ reCYCLEd panniers are made of sturdy and waterproof truck canvas. Maintenance is easy: clean the bag with a damp cloth and mild soap and avoid aggressive detergents. This will keep your durable pannier beautiful and strong for years to come.
